Spray paint

Wanted to give my wheel arch a tidy as it was a bit rusty. My colour is ash black, went to get a tin of spray and all they had was Black Pearl 05 and i was told that was the same as ash black. Does anyone know if thats correct. Also is it best to put a layer of laquer on ......

where were you trying to get the paint?
i'd recommend getting it from ford. you'll get the right colour and there is instruction with the can on how to get the best results.

I have a local supplier called paint shop supplies, they will make a larger aerosol up for a tenner, match any colour, rub the area down, spray undercoat, rub down, top coat half the panel and then laquer the whole panel, done my two rear quarters for £30. looks the biz (petrol blue)
