A few niggles

Hi all. Matt & I have aquired another 24v saloon ( 95 on an N ). Overall very tidy but has a few little niggles, so i thought i would share them with you guys & get some valued input  Ok here we go......
I have TC, ABS, Cruise & battery charge light ( dimly lit ) permanetly on the dash, so my initial thoughts are fusebox  . What do you guys think.
Second little niggle is the fuel gauge. It needle goes up & down as it pleases so i was thinking sender unit ? ?. Next is the gearbox which changes down with a 'thump' ( usually when slowing to a stop ). Seems to get worse when engine nice & warm  . Oil is nice & pink with no signs of wear, might actually be a bit of lash back from diff but open to oppinions  Finally the engine is a swine to start from cold. 30 seconds + of cranking before it fires & then it dies straight away. After a couple of tries it will tick over but very lumpy until warm. Also ( might be related ) it seems to 'hunt' a little when settled on a cruise. Soooo im going to start with the Idle control valve, plugs & coil & see where i go from there, but again any imput is greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking guys & apologies for rambling on a bit . hi there
re engine. air leak, fuel pressure regulator, lambda sensors & throttle position sensor.
also check the engine wiring.
re gearbox. dodgy drive shafts and cv's.

Check o rings for hunting, disconect battery for gearbox thump, that resets ecu. i get dodgy change from 1st to 2nd when i put the boot down for a while. Chop battery for a min and she ok. Weird
