Searching for Information

I can't figure out how to conduct a successful search.
An example; I put in - COLD RUNNING - exactly as it appears in a very old post and low and behold nothing found! How can that be?
I admit to getting past my best, age wise and not brilliant with these computer things - can somebody please help.

When you say a very old post, how long ago roughly?. Some data was lost a few years back when the main frame crashed?. Are you entering a time frame in the various boxes ?.
I've just entered Cold running and got 17 replies in less seconds!. I put in 365 days in the box 
Are you using the 'Search' box at the top of this page?....that's what I did.

I entered COLD RUNNING in the search box and left 'Match all words' The original post is on Page 161.
I suppose I didn't enter enough information.
What is meant by: Min age since post etc? Also Subject/Message?

If for example a post was written 8 days ago. you can put in the " Min age since post " at say 6 days.
And at the " Max age since post " say at 10 days. And you will get a search result that has been posted between 6 days and 10 days.... HTH
