cruise control

Hi everyone i might be being stupid but i cant get the cruise control to work on my ultima 2.0l estate i read the handbook and pressed the top button on the steering wheel like it said but no light came on do i need to hold the button down or am i doing something wrong would be greatfull if anyone could help. Hello. you press the top button with the white dot, then press the top button marked with a = on the right of the wheel , then it should come on. But only over a certain speed. ( i think it's about 30 )...........

hi there after switching on the system with the left hand top button, you then need to set the speed using the + button. that's when the light on the dash will come on. hth

Yes sorry it is the + button not the =,( i didn't press the shift key for the + ). . You press the = button when you want to resume cruise control...............
