Stalling in P

When the car is running in P or N it stalls, when it's in R or D it idles nicely, I had the battery off last weekend to check the drain holes and ever since i've put it back on it's been stalling in P and N. Ok before that. Any help plz...........

when you reconnected the battery did you allow the car to idle for 5 to 10 mins without revving it? the ecu needs to relearn some parameters when the battery has been disconnected

No i didn't, i connected the battery back, and didn't start it up again till the next morning and drove it straight away..... Should i disconnect it again , then let the car idle for 10 minutes...............

yeah no harm in trying that, other then that it may be the selector switch on the side of the box
