Hi all. Since i have had the car the rear o/s window hasnt worked. TBH i have spent most of my time on the paint & body, but am now getting all the little jobs done . Soooooo............ Any suggestions as to why the window might not be working ?? It dosent work off either the rear or front switches. I havent checked the fuses yet but im not sure if each window has a seperate fuse. Any suggestions appreciated. Ta ... Craig

There can be problems with the loom or a loose connector inside the door (pain to fix, I know), or even the regulator. If both left and right rear door looms are the same (can't see why not) I would test it by taking both doors off, and plugging the other door in to see if it works. Does the switch illuminate on the door and does all central locking etc. work?

TOF. The wiring circuit is such that if either the front or rear switches are dodgy for a particular window it won't work.Try swapping a few switches about first, taking note of the terminal positions as they differ,if you find a faulty switch you may resurrect it with a WD40 bath !! If switches are OK,take the panel off and connect the motor direct to a power supply to test it,reverse the connections to wind it the other way, that of course is what the switches do,hence if one has a faulty terminal no power passes to the other one. GOZZ.

Thanks chaps. Im kind of hoping for a simple fix ( i should be so lucky ) . I have just poped out for a crafty fag & have tried the global opening / closing, but alas no joy . All windows & roof open except that one . I have a box full of switches so will try that next ( including the rear window isolator ). Any idea if the windows have seperate or communial fuses ?? If that fails then it's panel off time :-o. Just hope it's not the motor !! Thats about the only spare part i havent got

| Gozz; I remember your good self mentioning the above to me when I was at your gaff a few weeks ago. Since then I have had a wander around a scrap yard and a number of window switches(7) jumped into my pocket as I was rummaging around in a Scorpio. (They must have been fearfull of the crusher) Having taken note of what you said I inspected the contacts on all the switches and to my surprise they were all in the same position, I have since tried them all on my Scorp and they work on every door even after swapping them about.

With one o' them little umbrellas in it @ TOF if the front switches don't work and the back switches don't work AND global doesn't work (whatever that is ~ sorry!) then I'm guessing it's not switches. Most likely motor not turning for some reason, bad plug connection to it etc. Fink you're gonna hafta pull the trim off and have a poke about

Sorry guys, no update yet. My drunken idiot of a neighbour has been playing silly b***ers all weekend & parking his car across my side of the drive ( whilst drunk out of his mind ). Have called the police but they need to catch him in the act ( typical ). Will try again next weekend, but have a funny feeling i will be bringing this one to Harewood . Thanks guys, will keep you informed... Craig

I had a druggy neighbour when I lived down south, who used to do that (park across my drive). Told him to move it, got abuse, same result as you from plod..... Shoved his wreck across the road with my land rover, Very Hard Shove lol, he never parked there again Cheers Dave
