while reparing the top loom i found in the toolstation catalog item no23876 self amalgamating tape bit expensive and bit fidel you have to peel off the backing and s t r e c h it on but a beter job than insulation tape.ps and i dont work fore toolstation

Yes good stuff you can make rubber bushes with it, although not sure if it would be hard enough for shocks.
Electrical wholesalers also sell it I think I got mine at TLC.
