Three problems

Dear all I have three problems on my lovely Y reg that I would like to get sorted. 1: Heated front windscreen doesn't work. The light on the switch does come on. Both fuses for the screen are ok. Relay checked and is ok (tested by swaping to another circuit). 2: Heated seats don't work. Again, the switch light comes on and fuses check out ok. 3: NO interior lights work. The door swicthes do work (they light the door ajar panel). Everything else in the interior works (electric seats, dash lights, cig lighter, radio etc). I have tested the central timer module as per the instructions on this site and it comes back fine. Anyone have any ideas about what to check next?

The door switches on the pillars that you can press in work the interior lights but they don't work the lights on the door ajar panel. Have all these problems occurred together or are some just things that never worked & you want to get them sorted? Relay 5 is for the interior lights, (says heated rear screen in the handbook). Can you hear the heated seat relay click in the centre consol when you turn the ignition to position 1. Sometimes if you turn the key off very slowly you can hear that relay chatter.

The heated seats is MOST likely to be a failed relay.. It is located inside the centre consul quite easy to get at. It is a small YELLOW one from memory.... Check the earth points on the heated windscreen there are 2 of them one either side. just near to the corner of the screen ( bottom)

you also have a 4th problem , no 17" diamond alloys , RE the heated screen, sounds daft but is the screen original, it could have been replaced by a cheaper non heated one, also the power cable to the screen can get damaged by the scuttle pannel rubbing on it, its a little black wire each side of the screen

Thanks for all the tips guys - I'll check them out this weekend. Tompion:- These things have never worked since I've had the car. Heated rear screen does work, so I assume relay 5 isn't at fault. I'll try gozz's suggestion of relay 16. Matt:- Those wheels are like hens teeth - I'll find some eventually Screen looks orginal and it has the power feeds - I'll check the wiring to ensure it's all in order.

What I meant was R5 is wrongly listed as heated rear screen, rear screen is R4.
