Which oil in a BOB?

I just noticed that the engine oil really needs toppping up! i don't know whats in there, however when i can get the use of a pit in a few weeks, i will do it all properly then with filter etc, i need to use the car in the meantime, would a cheapy oil liker castrol gtx be ok to keep on the safe side for the time being? if so what grade? please.

hi there
castrol gtx isn't that bad an oil in it's own right.
you need to use 5w-30 grade oil, though.
