First off, the tensioner pulley or roller on the tensioner, the bearings are noisy on mine! can this be replaced without removing the rad? i can get a spanner on it i thing, but is there a locknut the other side? Next, do many owners use fully synthetic oil in these engines? like Mobil 1 Any advice gratefully recieved cheers Bob

ro284. No lock nut, best remove the unit from the engine, large allen bolt in the centre, easier on the bench,no need to remove the rad. Regarding oil, unless you have a new engine I can't see the benefit of lashing out on expensive oil,and not much benefit if your engine is new GOZZ.
