Rear Wheel Arches

Hi, I have asked a couple of small body shops about repairing my rear wheel arches and have been told I would be wasting my money.
Is there a 'permanent' fix for this? Carrying on from that can anyone tell me how good the wheel arch trims are on ebay?

How bad are your arches?

ask a few of the people breaking them in the for sale area if they would be willing to chop the arches out of their breakers

You would only be wasting your money if the underbody is in a terminal tinworm state.Mk3 Granada arches fit,you or your body bloke can get these from a panel factor for not a lot of money.Best not cover rot with silly trims.

My Scorpio has been off the road for quite some time now, but I want to get her out again. But one thing that would need doing sometime is the rear arches. They're only a bit bubbly but bound to be worse underneath.
Whats the going rate for getting these done and painted? Any ideas?  Undecided

Depends on who you ask, I have had quoted ranging from £250 to just over £900, there are several on here who have had this done abd I am sure they will chip in.  On the quotes it is hard to tell as the cheap one was in a back street in Porthmadog but the cars he was working on a were parked around looked brilliant.

I had both mine lead filled 2 years ago for £300.

Both still looking good with he passenger side as good as the day it was sprayed but the drivers side I've noticed a small bubble forming in the last few weeks, right where it meets the bumper.

Good luck finding someone who can do lead filling now though - it's a bit of a black art.

The only permanent cure is to weld new metal in - well until that replacement metal rusts as well that is!
