Well, after several days soul searching the Scorpios future has been decided.... 
Its going to be booked in for a replacement gearbox and air con overhaul (new compressor, condensor, dryer etc)..... 
Should be like a new car by the time I'm finished.....you lot have convinced me that its all worth it......plus the fact that I couldn't find anything with the right mileage/spec and also I couldn't bring myself to let loose a poorly Scorpio on the used market, somebody would be bound to buy some trouble...
Heres to several more years of happy Scorpio-ing

Glad you have chosen the right path  Seems to be a route that more and more of us are having to take recently, i.e. deciding the car's fate after another problem....
