Fuel puzzle

The fuel computer tells me that I'm averaging around 20mpg and that I have 46 miles to empty. This means I have around 2.3 gallons left in the tank which is around 10.5 litres. This means I should be able to fill up with about 60 litres, (scorpio tank capacity being 70 litres.) However I'm only able to fill up with 53 litres. So where'd the other 7 litres go? [img][/img]

Hi, happens all the time. When once heading to fill up with "10 miles" left in tank, 2 miles later it said empty, fill up 3 miles later and can only get 65 litres in it. Basically, its got a little extra stashed away but I'm not about to find out how much - don't want to screw the cats.

In my case zero on the fuel computer usually means 65 litres to a full tank, and nozzle cut out number 2. Even so it is still something of a nervy experience even with 5 litres left in the system somewhere.
