Anybody else see the Lunar Eclipse tonight? I'm sat here, looking out over Torbay, and it is brilliant. Just a shadowy browny-red ball now. Really stunning, and a fantastic sight which I probably will never witness again.

Quite a sight indeed I'd been oustide earlier lying on the drive looking up at it. Crystal clear sky with all the stars twinkling away. Matt

A fairly pathetic showing in Scotland, just looked like a normal moon with a bit of shading to me. I've lost count of the times that a media advertised " spectacular asteroid shower " or " a Aurora Borealis Lightshow " has been, on the night, less than exciting ( dull, if truth be told ). The Hale Bopp Comet was the last decent thing to be seen in the sky I suspect Astronomers and other lovers of the astral world have rather a different meaning for the word Spectacular .

At full eclipse it went a kind of an orangy/pink colour.....looked a little like Venus. Not quite as stunning as the 1999 solar eclipse.....which I actually captured on my camcorder. It was pretty bright, but by putting both lenses of a pair of cheap sunglasses over the camcorder lens, I managed to record it

Looked OK but never actually appeared as a FULL eclipse I could always see a partial segment of the moon shining unless I missed it to due the usual Manchester clouds

Did see it and took some photos for my Daughter, I don't know what all the fuss was about either TBH If I had remembered how to use the camera properly I would have had some better ones of the full eclipse, they were all out of focus though.
