Just a slap on the back for the guys and gals at FPUK. A front wishbone for just £71 and only a fiver P&P for a 48hr ParcelForce delivery !! Yep, only £5, and it's a hefty lump that wishbone.

Heavens, I feel bad now. For a few measly quid more I could've had a tried and tested used wishbone rather than a cheaper " hit or miss " pristine brand new one .

Even though ebay auctions are very much 'buyer beware', to claim they are £200 from Ford amounts to gross misrepresentation and the seller could easily find himself in trouble with trading standards especially as he is a business seller.

Complain to trading standards. But think of all the 'bargains' you'll miss if he goes out of business... Darren

Ouch ! Those driveshafts are a bit pricey ! You can just change the CV joints on the ends - think they are about £60 each - NEW. I remember fixing the CV joints on my old Mk2 Granada estate - pretty sure they are the same part. Got a few driveshafts complete with CV joints from a scrapyard for about a tenner - this is going back a bit now - stripped the CV joints down and rebuilt them. A bit messy but not that difficult. I took the best bits from several CV joints and made up some good ones ( still have some in the garage ! ) all that talk about making sure you put the balls etc... back in the right position again is IMHO total rubbish. The Torx / Hex bolts can be a bit of a pain, make sure you get some spares in case Mr Hacksaw has to called in to assist. Seem to recall the chrome plating on the ball bearing wears / flakes off and mixes with the grease causing it to go thick, dry and crumbly - the CV joints start making a noise as though someone has tied a brick around the driveshaft and it is banging on the bodywork as it goes round. I used a graphited grease when rebuilding the CV joints - worked a treat, no noise at all, lasted another 50,000 miles till I pensioned the car off.
