'ptshhhew' noise

My hearing has suddenly gone very sensitive lately for some obscure reason, and I noticed yesterday that when I depress the brake pedal I get this small sort of 'ptshhhew' noise. It's very quiet, car has to be stationary and no stereo on or nuthin' like that else can't hear it at all. It's not a squeak or anything like that. No it's not the clock. I'm guessing vacuum servo "breathing" ? Pretty sure doesn't do it when engine stopped so can't think what else.
