blowing a fuse

 "Help" my 24valve, blows fuse 13 in main fuse box when I put it in gear,
engine is still running but no instruments are working,
switch off put a new fuse in and it starts ok full instruments working till I put it in gear engine runs but gauges stop working and fuse blow , any Ideas guy

 Just a thought . Check the wiring up through the G/Box selector lever.
