Hi,
Can anyone point me towards a "good" auto box specialist? In the greater london area is good, north london area even better!! I need a solenoid replacing (shift 3) and local auto shop will only do complete overhaul.  I'm told others have changed only solenoids with good results.

try the back of the auto trader or the E&M but be careful not all as they say , they tell you one price and you go to pick up £200 more, this happened to me a few years ago with a engine exchange, hope you find someone

Your comments are the exact reason I'm trying to find a recommended garage! If I don't get any further I will be trying what you suggest, thanks.
