air con blower switch spring?

Hi All
Got a problem with the air con blower switch(picture on page 54 of the owners handbook). Cannot switch it on unless i remove the switch and insert my finger into the hole and press it from the inside.
Had a look at the switch and nothing seems to be broken, should the switch have a spring fitted to it ?
