remote locking/alarm fob

hi all, basically my key fob would open the boot but would not operate the central locking and alarm. i had the fantastic idea to take it apart and i found black sticky stuff over all the metallic pad points. i cleaned this off and put it all back together making sure that the batteries were in correctly and hey presto nothing works! please dont tell me that the black sticky stuff acted as a conductor!!!!!

doesnt that involve money? isnt there some way i have just not cleaned something away. i thought forums saved money! help!!!!!

all is mended, thankyou very much for your help S man, for future reference i own a Sorpio cosworth and live in Poole if anyone knows of any meets around the county let me know. ta

there is a meeting on Fathers day at Harewood House in Leeds A long way but we had 42 cars there last year and Eric came up from Kent (although he never spoke to me at all all day...I'm not bitter!!)
There is another meeting in Weston super mare (not too far away for you) which me and the wife are travelling down from Warrington for the weekend away - any excuse!! That is on 31st July. Check the meetings page here in the forum for more details. There are a few regular meets that people go to in conjunction with the Granada Scorpio online forum
