Heater Blower Motor broken -- or not?

Hi folks, over the last days, I found out so many facts that now I am not even sure myself anymore what's going wrong. I can see the following symptoms: My AC is working (cold air is floating into the car when driving fast), but when switching the Heater Blower motor from "off" to 1, 2 or 3, exactly nothing happens. No speed of, no more fresh air ... bah. What could be possible causes for this? I was told there is some "plug" somehwere that might have trouble and thus keep the motor from starting -- what plug could that be apart from the standard resistors?

Hi You may have already checked this ? the dial pushes on to a spindle which turns the motor to 1 2 3 is the part of the dial which fits on the spindle ok,is it turning the spindle if its split or damaged its probably not gripping tight enough. its only a thought after reading your post saying the motor makes a noise at times.
