Random Stalling

The first time it stalled, I had been driving the car for about 2 minutes, put it in reverse, and then it died on me. It took about 3 cranks before it started again. Second time, i came to a stop, went to accelerate, then died on me. Again, it took about 3 cranks with the help of giving it some gas to get it started again. What i also noticed was when i am in reverse, and start to accelerate, the car sputters when i only give it VERY little gas. This has only happened once in Drive, but a couple times in reverse. Please, someone help me out! Thanks in advance.
