Advice on lighting display

Hi All
Just thought i would ask for some advice about whether the stalks on the steering column, the indicators wipers etc are meant to light up.
I am just curious as in one of my old company cars, a Laguna, all the stalks were lit up when the lights were on.
Also are there any lights in the heating vents?
I have a 1998 facelift Ghia X estate by the way.
If they do but only on the Ultima is it a practical upgrade?

hi there
all no's. only things to light up (but usually don't) are the heated seats, traction control, rear windows defeat and all the window switches.
