Cant shut the bonnet

Havent shut the scorpio bonnet in a while as its been off the road and when i came to do it - it wont go down 
the catch is stiff, i had to help the catch go back (the bit that moves when u pull the lever) but even after putting it back it wont shut still

try spaying wd40 on the catch which opens the bonnet i had the same probs on my deisel scorp this morn with being stood awhile also spray the spring in the bonnet too after a few slams it eventually shut

i aslo give the bonnet stops a couple of turns i think it helped the bonnet to close
