Hello, On first I say hello from Poland. We have Ford Scorpio Forum also on www.forum.ford-scorpio.pl and the web site on www.ford-scorpio.pl my nick there - Rafal A.(antek) I want to say sorry about my English - it's not very good, but please, try to understand me I have Scorpio 03/97 2.3i with ABS Teves MK20 without TCS and some problem with this unit. First, my car was not running for 2 months, I have some problems with A4LDE and after this when I return to use my car, I notice some problems with ABS. My ABS light stay on after self test. I have checked all sensors, and they were ok. After this, I connect +12 and ground directly in to the motor connector of ABS pump, the electrical engine starts heavy, and for the first 2 seconds sounds strange, but after this, runs properly without strange sounds. After this operation, my ABS become to be ALIVE!! and works good but only for 30 days Now, I have 2 different ways, to ABS failure. 1 - after self test ABS light stay on, and I have no ABS 2- after self test ABS light goes out (off), I start to drive, and on the first 50m when I try to brake, ABS starts to work - Brake PEDAL VIBRATES but very softly, very light, not like normal, (I hear that the motor of ABS pump is working, but not like normal but softly and quiet) and only for about 3-4 seconds, and after this ABS light goes on, and ABS stops to work. If I m not trying to brake for the first 50m, ABS light goes on and I have no ABS. Now I m stupid for my ABS and I don t know, what to do - check and clear sensors?? clear the multi plug?? or maybe this is fault in ABS module, witch is under the ABS pump?? Have You any ideas? for my problem? Could You help me?

Hello ! I have a similar problem (still unsolved). My ABS does not pass the test and the light is always on. A few months ago on a verry verry wet weather the ABS worked a few times. Another problem was at high speed (20+ mph) light turned on. Now i know that the sensors are dirty and lose signal at speed, but how come the system worked about 5 times in one year, and that was when it was verry wet outside and the car haven't run for about 1 week. PS: rafantek what do you mean by putting +12 on the pump, is it insead of thoes 2 wires which have a plug located near the electronic module ?

| Yes, there are two thick cords from the electric motor, to the electronic module, ended by 2 pin plug. This is separated from this big multiplug. In teves MK IV is on the left side of ABS (standing on tke fornt of the car) in mk20 on the right side, under the multiplug

Hello all. Thanks for help...but my problem was diffrent, i have read all from this (earlier) and checked it at all on Feb 2nd, 2006, 6:59am, Simmo wrote: it was first what i have done, but nothing helps. Now i know, that i have problem with electronic modulator. I have repaired my modulator, by my self, and ABS works goood If someone have simillar problems, and everything is ok with sensors etc, you must go to some electronics engineer with your modulator to repair it, or buy another good one.

What's the "modulator", where is it located, and what needs to be fixed? I've got the same problems with the ABS/TC selftest (yes, I've had the other problem as well, he he).

The "modulator" is the small black box next to the ABS pump. You can find it by the multiplug that connects to it.

Gotcha. Guess I'll have to get some techy-know-it-all guy to look at it to see if there's something wrong with it. Thanks
