Different fuel used? On cars I drive (not just the Scorp) fuel consumption seems to be higher when it is very cold too!

Thanks for the tips..... I really need to brush up on my 'Ford speak'..... with this site i'm gradually learning all about MAF, OBD2, PCM, and i'm seriously thinking about getting a DLC to check the DTC's to see the state of the OGI's....(old girls internals) john

Funny you should mention that Stan..... I rather think that my thermostat has been 'sticky' for a long time....I didn't notice until it stuck closed a short while ago!..... boiling oil etc!...after replacement the heater works much better too....i'll see if the economy improves too. I had not paid much attention to the temperature gauge before, it only went to halfway even when block was red hot..... and still sits at half scale pretty smartly.
