A/C fault but nothing wrong...

Hi all I've done a climate control re-set and it showed up fault code "57" but there's nothing objectively wrong with the system - eg all the vents work, the selectors work, the fans work, the temperature settings work. What does 57 mean and why would it appear when there's nothing wrong? Cheers Penguin

not sure what the fault is on code 57 off hand, but i had the same fault/non fault myself, and mine worked perfectly too you may find that a c/c reset will clear the fault, it did mine. Russ

Evening Penguin 57 implies that the HBC is suspect and that normally translates into poor output or strange changes of fan speed and sometimes fan failure for a period of time. If everything seems to be working OK just be a little afraid instead of very afraid . Does it clear when you reset it? Geoff

Glad this has come up as I have just started looking at mine. I have a 57 as well but do have the occasional funny fan behaviour but at the same time I also have an 02 which I do know about bacause the switch plays up a bit (not switching off or cutting out when turning). Getting a used switch from a scrapper, so that should sort that one. I also have a 52 code, any ideas what this could be? Im going in to have it checked and gassed soon as when I bought mine, there was no paperwork to show that it has ever been done, dont fancey having the pump seizing on me any time soon.

the "52 " code is the same as the "02" code just reporting the same fault
