they is a boalt on the left hans side of the gear box at the top that i cant get to as it seems to be consealed by the motor

if its the same as a 2.3 auto.......you will need to remove the starter motor, as its bolted through the bell housing Russ

had a quick look at my car,not sure if seening the right bolt.but have you tried tilting box down a bit more to get into bolt.r u talking about the engine concealing it or the starter motor.ru working from under or above.

hi can see the bolt on the right hand side looking into engine bay,impossible to see l/h side,for pipes etc.should be able to tilt eng/box to get bettr access,just watch your fuel cut of loom which comes out the rear head incase it gets damaged with being jammed on bulk head.
