Oh dear. I appear to have EMPTIED the entire contents of a 5L bottle of brake fluid into my boot. I have given all the carpets a scrub and got it off the paintwork inside, but it still wiffs a bit, so there is still some in the carpet. Any suggestions on how to completely remove all traces from the carpet? Paul.

As it is mixable with water you could try washing the offending carpet in a detergent and rinsing with a hose (After removing from the car ) and allowing to dry in the SUNSHINE Which we are supposed to be getting this weekend.

could always try a steam cleaner, using one of the nozzles and aiming it at a towel thus forcing brake fluid out of the carpet onto the towel hth
