Autobox Problem.

I have identified a small problem with my autobox. If I brake heavily, when I come to a halt, the autobox will have moved itself back into neutral, and it takes a couple of seconds to pick up drive again. I have also noticed that when I reverse up my in-laws drive, which involves reversing up a sharp incline, it does the same thing so I assume it has something to do with the fluid moving forwards in the box. Any suggestions as to where I should be looking for the cause of this? Fluid level is fine, and the fluid is the right colour and smell etc.

Thanks, I have factored in a gearbox service (probably next month) and by reading previous posts I reckon this will do a world of good.
