ABS Sensor question

Hello!
I have located that on of my ABS sensors (rear) i out of order, but the question is.
Should the ring (the one that send the magneticpulse) be greased, when i lift og the sensor there was plenty of bearinggrease, should i keep it this way? or take out the driveshaft and clean it?

Grease should not affect the operation of the sensors ring but a wipe with a cloth will do no harm, just make sure there are no metal bits stuck to it as that can cause the sensor not to operate correctly.
