Tailgate isolator

Can someone please tell me what this isolator does and where does it fit

Ford sell an isolator kit part no 1040316, cost just over a £1.00 which solves the problem of a squeaking tailgate

Sorry i misread ur post r u sure it is the tailgate & not the load cover, if it is the load cover my previous advice stands.
 
The isolator kit is 2 rubber washers which fit over the load cover lugs, ie the bits that locate in the side trims.

Thanks for that but I removed the load cover when I was trying to track down the squeak
