Oil in the air-con wash?

This is something I noticed about a week ago. When switching off the car the water from the air-con drains off as it should, but I've noticed a rainblow slick in it suggesting their might be oil in there. Obviously therefore once the car was cold I checked both engine and transmission oil dipsticks and found niether showing low. Also once cold I had look under the car there was any evidence of an oil leak but there was nothing under the car to suggest that this was the case. In the next dozen or so journeys there was no problem (although I didn't use the aircon in all of them so there was no wash at all) but today I did briefly and again there was a tiny slick in it. But on checking the oil level it hasn't moved on the dipstick from last week and again there is nothing leaking when the car is stationary. Could this be leak tracer dye in the air-con system instead? (But the air-con isn't failing so I'm guessing not). Any ideas? Cheers Penguin

i wouldnt worry to much if your oil level is ok, not sure where exactly the drain pipes exit, but the drainage could just be mixing with a bit of oil on the bottom of the car...

| Noticed the same on my car, cleaned out the drain pipes about a month ago and can confirm that they would collect any standing oil as it runs out the bottom of the car.

Noticed that today on mine, nearly crapped myself thinking there was a coolant leak. the water seems to dribble down the back of the engine, so it must collect all sorts on its way down.
