Hello
 I have a 97 2.0 litre 16v Scorpio auto
When driving the car feels that is holding back when cruising, it does not feel it when accelerating
But if you set the cruise control to 50 mph or when you are not accelerating

The car feels that it is jerky and not smooth running

I have rewired the harness at the top of the engine due to the cable going brittle
That’s ok
I have renew the fuel filter and put an expensive fuel cleaner in the tank

I have not changed the plugs as they look ok but I don’t know what the best plugs to use
 As asked in another thread

could be a fuel filter. They are very cheap and easy to replace. Its under the rear of the car. On the drivers side I believe.

Faulty ignition coils & plug leads can cause this effect Smiley
