ABS continues

I have changed over the ABS controller and my ABS light is still on. Therefore do I need to get the fault code cleared before the light will extinguish?

hi there what version of abs do you have? http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/abssystem.htm i have the mk 2.0 version. i got the light on when on the rolling road. back on the road, it cleared itself. not much help, though.

Hi, The controller number begins with 97. But I'm not sure what is meant b version though

It would seem so, if it fails the start up checks. (later system as yours) I had a wheel sensor go near short circuit (light on always,later system) but had to scan & clear the codes as the light would not go out with new sensor fitted,iether way it would be good to see whats going on
