Airfilter Woes

I can't get an air filter for me V6 Ordered one at Hafords who have ordered in the wrong one twice. They are always too big! Now the smegheads are refusing to give me a refund because I have no reciept. I can't recall getting one! I demanded to speak to a manager and was told he is not in till Wednesday....Never mind, I have the store managers name and one of the yoof members of staff told me what town he lives in, so I can always ring him at home (assuming he's not ex-directory) Anyway. Where, apart from Ford themselves, can I get an air filter?

Try a Motor Factors (in your area) rather than an accessory shop. They usually have a better idea of what's what. I'm not going to knock/support Halfords, but suggest a quiet calm approach might do more good than an attack on the Managers Home Phone!! THAT is guaranteed to get things going badly!! Have you actually got a price for a genuine Ford one? You might be pleasantly surprised.

I would be super polite if I called the boss at home. I would be at pains to stay within the law. We have had customers do it to our old MD where I work and the customers always got exactly what they wanted. I think the new one is Ex-directory so it doesn't happen anymore. I got nothing but attitude from one the staff there tonight so if the deputy manager is the same tomorrow, I will just land em in it with the boss. I can see it now "which one of you idiots told a customer where I live?"

I avoid halfords unless I have to go there.. Local Factors are cheaper, freindler, more knowledgeable and more than happy to exchange incorrect items.. If in doubt take the old filter in and they will just crossmatch., TT

I mentioned to the most sensible member of staff at Halfords that I have the bosses home number (thanks to them telling me where he lives) ans I got a call back from the deputy manager as soon as he got in this morning telling that, I can have a refund! Funny that. MwaaaHaHAHaHhaaaaaha ah Called Ford, they can do me a filter for 30p more, and they will have it tomorrow for me.

Ford are pretty good for the filters etc and you get the right ones usually Try getting a 24v oil filter from Halfords in less than 2 weeks Not in stock, then they order the Granada one even though you tell them its not the right one (because they know better than you )
