door lights

Hi I have a 2.3 and the manual/book says there are supposed to be door lights which come on all x4 doors when any door is opened. There are red reflectors on the side of each door when opened but is there supposed to be a light as well ?? Maybe it was optional but mine dont come on...cant see a fuse for those apparent lights. Can anyone advise whether i have a fault and where? thanks

Puddle lights are on the underside of the doors, do the red lights actually light or are they just reflectors? The puddle lights were discontinued in the later models, what year/spec is yours?

Mine is a P reg Ultima 24v with puddle lights. The red lights look like reflectors but do light up and there are white lights on the underside of the door to light up any, er, puddles too. Do any interior lights work? Do the footwell lights work? I love the Scorps interior lights

Have a look on the underside of the door, some have the cutouts for the lights with plastic covers instead of lights, if there are lights there then i'd say its a fault

I've got a 1996 2.9 12v. I was VERY lucky with this car, because the original owner had every conceivable extra fitted. The puddle lights are brilliant, and really show up the area where you step out of the car as though it was daylight. They really are superb and very powerful. Just been out and taken these for you. The flash obviously brightens things up, but the puddle lights are well worth considering for the winter months. One of my neighbours gave me a very strange look when he saw me rolling around on the drive with the camera....think he thought I'd had one too many!! Sod him!!

No problem Pedro. Always easier to explain with a picture.
