Something just struck me today.  Is the clock meant to light up with the dashboard illumination?  Mine doesn't but I've never noticed it before.

If it does (and I have a blown out bulb) could someone give me chapter and verse on how to get the panel out to change the bulb?

Cheers

Yes it should light up with the rest of the dash,
Take a look HERE about 3/4 down the page.

Shocked

Removing the whole fascia is WAY beyond my feeble skills.  Can the clock piece be got out without doing that?

Cheers

It's not as hard as it looks, It can be done in under 10 mins once you know where all the screws are.

HI Penguin:

It's really NOT as difficult as you're probably thinking!

Like you (and probably like all new Scorpio owners), I absolutely bricked at the thought of disturbing all that lovely walnut dash!! But it's SO easy!! REALLY.

You WILL need your radio code, as this has to come out.

Then undo two screw above where the front of your radio was. Undo a further two above your speedo/tacho and then gently pull away as gently and evenly as possible. You should be able to pull it far enough out to get to the clock/bulb. It's an absolute sod to get your fingers round the bulb though!! Best to remove the clock to do it. 3 small phillips screws (short X head screwdriver needed).

I have done a modification to mine, so that I can now get the bulb out and replace it without  removing the facia again.

Simmo has now kindly linked to this for me/you. See his post below.

You'll also need a bulb, and you'll probably have to get this from your friendly Ford Dealer.. Mine (2) so I've got a spare, cost about 97p each if I remember correctly.

Don't be afraid of removing the fascia. It's NOT difficult.

Just LOOKS scary!!  Smiley

I need to do this.

If you need to do the bulbs in the speedo, do you have to take the wheel off?

If so the two behind the rev counter in mine can stay blown.... forever.

Also, anyone put LEDs in their dash?

I don't mind a tight fit, just don't want an airbag going off.  I had to mess with one once on a Cavalier.  I wore a motorbike helmet!

Must have looked like the Stig was jacking the car!
