What could be leaking?

Hi all

Got a bit of a leak, in fact I've got what looks like a lot of a leak but there doesn't seem to be a cause. Can anyone help?

Symptoms as follows:

A puddle of something watery (pale green) and unpleasant and non-evapourative has been noticed under the car comming from the the front right of the engine bay.  There is sometimes a bit a of oil mixed in but (on this car) there is a bit of oil mixed in the wash of the air-con as well so I am assuming there is simply some oil in the undertray that both the air-con wash and this leak is picking up.

Obviously therefore my first thought was engine coolant so I checked the coolant level (on the max-line) and checked it again four days later to find that it was still on the max-line.  (Also I am not getting warnings for overheating in the cabin).

Other fluids that I can check also seem to be fine in that:

The Power Steering Resevoir level hasn't moved since I discovered this leak.

Engine and Transmission oil are both on max and haven't moved since I discovered this leak.

The location of this leak doesn't suggest brake fluid but that resevoir is also not moving, nor do I have any brake fault warnings in the cabin.

I'm guessing it's not screenwash because I'm not running out of screenwash.

I don't have the sort of appauling fuel consumption that would suggest the leak is petrol (and it doesn't smell like petrol, nor is petrol pale green).

I further presume I'm not loosing air-con gas because that is evarpourative and besides the air-con isn't failing.

And yet, despite all this, every time the car is left in one place for any length of time a huge puddle appears underneath it.

Any ideas?  Huh

Cheers

Hmm.. I would still have a peek underneath and check that it isn't screen wash. Remember that the tank takes close to 10 litres! and it will take a while to empty it.

can only be coolant or screenwash, as kj says the screenwash bottle holds 7 litres or 11 litres if you have headlight jets.....

Actually put on an overall myself and had a look underneath.  Having taken a smell sample with the substance of the leak against the stuff in the screenwash bottle and the stuff in the coolant tank I can say that - blast - it is definitely coolant.

Fortunately - in so far as I can tell - it's not a serious problem, the leak is comming from a core plug and the core plug doesn't look to be in very good condition, so hopefully change that and no more problem. Beyond my skills so the garage can do it tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
