Front seat belts

My front seat belts seem to retract very slowly.
Both driver & passenger belts have to be 'fed' back in.
The metal bit on the belt is regularly shut in the passenger door when people get out.....& that's after they've released it & thrown it against the window 
Is it just a matter of greasing them up or are the retractors shot?

I've inspected for grime & cleaned them, but still they won't retract.
Me thinks I'll have to replace them.
