The alarm horn is situated behind the battery whereas the warning instrument horns are under the front bumper on the offside so you should be able to decide which is which. Most likely to be the alarm horn. First check the bonnet switch,on the cross member to the left of the bonnet locking catch. Secondly the boot/tailgate lock and then all four doors. The bonnet catch is a favourite and a dose of WD40 may be all that is required.  Wink. Let us know how you get on.

The most important thing on these cars (which model do you have) is to make sure there is a battery cover fitted, that all the drain holes near the two fuseboxes are clear of dirt and debris, and that the fuseboxes themselves have the lids properly fitted. Some members put small bags of 'silica gel' ( as used in camera bags etc) in the boxes in order to absorb any moisture but the main aim is to prevent it getting in in the first place. If you need to get at the alarm horn or clear that area have a read of THIS . Once the battery is out the horn is readily accessible.

Just  disconnect  the alarm  horn  ( one spade connector )  easy to get to  at back of battery.
Does your dashboard indicator show  that all  doors and  the boot  are closed  ?

My  boot  light  was flickering  when going round corners which showed  that  something was wrong  and it subsequently  led  to  some nocturnal  noisiness  from the alarm  until I sorted  out the dodgy boot wiring.

I think the bonnet needs to be closed, or the alarm will be triggered. Put something on the alarm trigger button to push it down, if you want to test with bonnet open.

It used to be (so I'm told, I discovered it accidently) a diagnostic for the Granada's alarm that if you tapped the bonnet sensor repeatedly with the alarm off, that the alarm would produce several beeps to confirm it was working. I was also told that the Scorp is supposed to act similarly.

I have checked the operation of the Scorp's alarm and everything works as expected, except I have not been able to trigger it with the alarm off by repeatedly tapping the bonnet sensor.
