Hi, Wipers packed up this morning, got home ok as it was not far, I have read the fourm (wiper linkage) So now its stopped raining I have had a look, sure enough, the short arm ball joint has parted. I need an arm re the information, so what is the problem is it just the socket in the arm that wears, or does the ball also need replacing. I have made the temporary repair with the cable ties. It seems to work ok. Colin

the socket wears, they are plastic linned or sleeved and the ball is metal over time the plastic gives enough movement toallow the socket to drop off. A new arm is only about £8 new form ford I bought one last year , not bad for an 11year old car
