Steve, It's a b.....r of a job. There are nuts underneath the thing I am told and the only access is of course from the drivers footwell. It has been said that the only way to do it is to push the seat right back and lay on your back with your head amongst the pedals!!!!. Hopefully someone who has actually done it will be able to offer more advice.

Simmo is correct. I have done this on a Granada Scorpio(same duel fusebox configuration). Its best really to remove the seat altogether, and you will need to remove the lower dash panel. There will be 4 nuts to undo and about a dozen connector to remove from the underside of the fusebox. Make sure you note where they unplug from as its not always obvious. Also you will need a very small penlight torch to hold in your mouth and aim at the area you are working on as you will need both hands. Its a hell of a job and just as much fun to refit. Enjoy!!!! Simmo's not wrong, you need a plentyfull supply of paracetamols. You need to remove the facia in the drivers side footwell and the connectors are directly above the sidevent pipes so I beleive they need to be removed, it is a long time since I did mine and I was stripping the car so didn't need to be too careful which made it easier. Once you have made your way into the fusebox base you will be able to get a socket (8mm if I remember rightly) up through the wires to undo them, 4 in total this is helped if you can pull some of the multiplugs out, all the plugs are different and will only go in the place they are meant to which is a help. Once the screws are all out and the connector to the top front of the fusebox are disconected, thew fusebox can be lifted out. Re fitting it is carried out in the reverse order but have a few sticking plasters handy. As I said, it's a while since I did mine and I also did the one on my old 91 Granada which was exactly the same and never had a problem with it. But hey, it don't half hurt your back if your an oldie like me.... Hope this is of help to you, overall the job's a bit awkward but it's well worth doing yourself to save on labour charges. Pete
