Just looking for a new lambda sensor to go after the cat.
 
the ones on cats direct are solder in types I guess...

yes. i think the wiring colour is different, but they give instructions with the sensor.

Have a look Here. Scroll down and it details a four wire.This site shows the direct fit one but you can check through and find cheaper ones.

yes, 4 wires. 2 for the pre heater, 1 live & 1 ground.

is this on the new lambda sensor? the 2 wires the same colour are for the heater. the other 2 are live and earth. check with a meter set for 1 volt.
 
are there no instructions with the new sensor?
 
car wiring on page 9 for car colours

I have finally cured my lack of power at 4500 RPM - the cat brick was busted blocking the exhaust.
 
New cat, lambda sensor and manifold (as its frikken cracked) and I should be good to go.
