Cosworth - Vacuum leak?

Hi
Mucking around on the car I noticed a sound from the top rear of the engine which sounded "odd"
Seeing as vacuum leaks seem to cause a lot of headaches I wondered if you could give me your opinion on the sound in this bit of mpeg
It's 3.3Mb BTW

Is that the sound of air being sucked in somewhere?
The car runs fine as far as I can tell, the only possible gripe is a slight lack of grunt - but we're not talking much. It just seems like a few % is missing when you floor it and a bit of a delay in the power kicking in.

there is a T piece connector under the silver inlet manifolds that is known the break and cause this sound and the type of problems you are experiencing.
Removal of the manifolds and replacement of this part is not a big job but replacing this T piece connector will make a big difference to the car.
Before you go any further, put your hand behind the drivers side headlight. There will be a black cylinder that should have 2 hoses connected to it through a single connector - just check this has not popped off (happened to me).

And correct again, but it isn't as difficult as it looks.
I did a little description for someone ages ago, will see if I can dig it out if it helps, though the engine manual has it all in - have a look at this:

Would be great if you could although the pdf seems pretty clear - did I read somewhere that the EGR valve bolts are pigs to get at? any hints if they are?

Any advice on making up new vacuum hoses or suitable T pieces - I take it if I replace the T I'll need to get something bigger than the tubing and glue the pieces together - what would be the best adhesive.
Thanks for the help and sorry for the lame questions but I'm kind of out of my depth with this stuff - would like to have a crack at it though - but I design buildings not cars!!!
BTW I'm in South Bristol

Ha ha, says me, I was a car numpty (ish) til the Scorpio arrived 
I haven't had to replace this connector *touch wood* so I don't know of a suitable replacement, so my advice would be to go to Ford and order it from them.
Someone who has replaced the part may well have a better idea and/or measurements for replacement purposes. If you have a look at the hoses running around the engine area you will get an idea of size and could maybe get a handful to try - they should only be cheap from your local motor factor/autojumble etc.
It may be that your vacuum hoses are absolutely fine and it is just this T piece that needs replacement. No glue should be required, a correct sized connector will pop on and stay on
Have a look with a torch and see if you can actually see any hoses which have popped off - though the hissing is a fair pointer! If the inlet manifolds have to come off then you are best replacing the gaskets. They are not dear, I have the part numbers if you need them

maybe i can shed a little light.....i had to replace this vac assy last year....ford found the assy on his parts picture,,no probs and the new part was much more robust than the one it replaced.about £26 if i remeber rightly..he said it was all to do with emmisions control...fitting was relatively easy it all becomes clear once you find the broken pieces..its all the plastic "T" pieces the break...have a go....it does make a difference...........

Hope this will help,
The hoses on my were baked rock hard and had gone brittle so
I replaced my hoses to the T pieces with silicone hose, I found a guy selling offcuts on ebay.
I then scoured places like homebase and B&Q looking at T pieces from water irrigation systems The ones I used were about £3.00 for a pair one of these lasted about a year but it was long enough for me to find a few when I was at the scrappies.
