The Pulses for the rev counter come from the coil on the 12 v but where it picks that up I don;t know . Others with better understanding of electric s may be along to help . The wiring diagrams are HERE ( it states sierra in the title but they ARE for the scorpio.

According to the diagram there is a white/black wire connecting the instrument panel between the TFI module and the coil pack. Have you tried doing the dash diagnostics to see if it's registering pulses? It would also appear that there is a 15A fuse (in the main fusebox) protecting the kickdown circuit and it also contains a relay - not having an auto I can't tell you which one it is though. Darren

Disconnect the battery! Two 10mm bolts hold it in and together at the front - once removed you can separate the mid section from the lower casing and then release all the multiplugs beneath. Darren
