hi there if the light flashes, then it indicates an issue with the gearbox. you need to check it out asap. check the level/smell of the fluid. get the 'box up to temp. with the engine running, cycle through the gears 3 times each. again with the engine running check the level. you also need to get it scaned as an error code will be stored.

ok so this morning i take out the maf sensor and find that both the wires have a black coating on them that is about 1 to 2 mm thick in the middle covering about a 1/3rd of the wire dose anybody think this could be the problem and if so how do i cleen it without breaking the little wires!!!!! i also looked at the g/box oil the leval seems to be ok after priming it 3 times the colour after wiping on a white lint free cloth is a very light brown like new engin oil{not like old burnt oil} smells like g/box oil from what i can remember from my old granada auto it has no bits in it ie it is clear thanks darren

get your self a can of carb cleaner and spray into the hole where the wire is, this will clean the wire, as for the fluid it should be red not brown red------------------good brown----------------bad black----------b****red

hi there i wouldn't adjust anything just yet, wait a few days. the o/d light flashed because it saw a problem. as i said, wait a while and see if it was just a dirty MAF that caused it. re the slip in gear changes. it's does a sort of slip as it changes, to make the change smoother. hth
