Now and then my drivers side mirror starts to move on its own, usually skywards. I can make it go the other way with the control but it can then carry on the same way when i let go, then stops when it feels like it. Well it is a scorpio after all! It doesn`t seem to matter on the weather as it`s happened today and hasn`t rained for ages. I can live with it, i just havn`t seen any other links regarding this problem.

hi there

would it do it if the control is set to off (middle)?

the control might just need a clean inside.

Yes it does it no matter where the control is set to, left right or middle. Also  sometimes does it when i switch the car off, i can hear the motor whiring away, its still trying to move even though its on the limit!

Perhaps the interior of the control switch is breaking up. Try unplugging it completely.

Another possibility is that if it includes the facility....

The signals for it to change position are coming from the CCM - if it is the type with a seat/mirror position memory.
