Hi all  Engine misfiring ? which do i go for Coil Packs or Injectors
Have any of you ever removed any injectors to clean them, if so what are the chances of refitting them with the old seals as my local MFD does,nt have any
I can get some from fordparts uk but of course that will be mon or tues  now & I would like to (have a go do it) over the weekend
Does ANYONE  know if there is a way to check if they are working electrically with (A  Meter) prior to stripping them down & then having stripped them down how do you clean them
and or check if they are working, ( Is there any info on this anywhere)
I bought some new spark plugs & leads today but its still the same ( keeps cutting out /intermittent misfire ) wallet lighter by 51 quid now and no better
Still trying to make up my mind weather to buy new coil packs or do the injectors ?)
I am realy struggling now as to know what to do as i have unplugged all the sensors (one at a time) IE: plugged the EGR  with a screw
unplugged the DPFE  sensor, unplugged the HO2S,  Unplugged the MAF none of which makes the slightest difference
STILL MISFIRES like running on three plugs intermittently and no matter what i do it seems to be getting worse
kangarro style (any help gratefully received

I'd first of all stick some redex or similar in the fuel tank & see if it makes a difference.

If it doesn't make a difference, then I'd go for the coils as I've found that they are usually the cause of a misfire.
The only problem being is that it may only be one of the coils which is shot. I had this dilemma a few years back & bit the bullet & replaced both as I figured they'd been in there for the same amount of time....the car ran perfect after that, so I wasn't to bothered by the cost.

Also as Matt says, check that the loom to the coils isn't badly damaged.

The coils are about £60.00 each from Ford, but this Ebay seller is selling 2.3 & 2.0 coils for half the price........

Postage is a little excessive, but if you asked them for a pair then they may do a postage discount  Wink

I'm not sure what they are like, but have a read of the "Coil Packs.....half FMD price" post in Off Topics  Smiley

Hi matey, if you do decide to change or remove your injectors, please please do not use the old seals, read my post http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=di splay;num=1175462632 i had some real problems after, if it help i have a set of injectors you can have from a 2.9 if they fit but your would have to have them reconned, i think its around 10 pound each, just let me know, fords charged me 1.30 per seal but it was worth it considering the the time it takes to rebuild it all and then find the old seals are leaking
