Oil Leaks, Dancing tachos and washer warnings! :-O

Hi Guys, back again - all the problems I had before have basically sorted themselves - wet weather gremlins is what i have put it down to.
Can you help me with this tho:
Car dropped a bit of oil which flew back onto back box and caused lots of smoke, i stopped had a look think it was engine oil possibly gearbox - but hoping not the latter. Drove on sheepish but that was weeks ago and have used the car since and its been ok. Dont trust it now tho.
Thinking oil seal may have leaked as oil pressure was high (slightly above max mark). Could that happen?
Tacho - after a mile starts to dance around, more annoying than anything else - does anyone know a fix?
Screen wash low warning light came on, so I took the hint and refilled the thing and it has not gone out for past week. Anyone got any ideas??

hi there
re the wahers. that might be the float in the screenwash tank. think you need to replace as i don't remember anyone saying they fix theirs.
rev counter on the 12v comes from the coil. don't know much more than that, but would start looking there.
what was just over max? engine or gearbox?
